Closet Case

There’s something truly satisfying about cotton, silk, denim, and all the other blends of fabrics that are hanging behind your closet doors. All the different styles, the many colors, and how incredible they make you feel. The confidence that you have when a beautiful garment is draping over you. That instant gratification that you get when you slip into that gorgeous designer dress that fits all your curves in all the right places. And hides all your imperfections even better. Or that three piece suit that fits so much like a glove that it looks like it was custom made with your precise measurements. For many, those pair of go-to jeans and a nice shirt speak even higher volumes of attractiveness. Even with that all that magnificence sometimes you just have those days when you don’t even want to entertain or engage with others. You feel so comfortable in the privacy of your own home trying on all your favorite articles of clothing. Nobody watching, and no one there to offer their opinion on how it lays on your body. You can just be yourself with no judgement. Maybe you can schedule a day or an event when you will wear this out looking your absolute best, no flaws, without any imperfections. As much as you love playing dress up and strutting in the mirror for your signature stance. For some reason you want to keep it a secret. Why do you hide your new purchases far back in your closet so your spouse won’t see them? Why do you only like modeling those red bottom pumps or silk paisley suit jacket when nobody’s home? Or only around a specific group of people that you feel can relate? Why do you feel like it’s too much to wear out in the open? Why do you feel ashamed to talk about your love of fashion? I love clothes, shoes, accessories, and every single thing about fashion probably more passionately than a lot of people that I know. And I am not uncomfortable to admit that. Be true to yourself and be honest with others about your truth. Ask yourself, is this wrong? And if you answer, yes then you need to seriously address this matter. But if you answer, no then model that floor length coat proudly with no shame attached. Now take a moment and think because this blog is not even about fashion or the clothes hanging in your closet.
